Nebraska The Other Tracks EP by Smooth Agent Records
Greetings,
Smooth Agent is very proud to present Nebraska's Other Tracks EP. Alistair Gibbs needs no introduction. If you have not hear of him he has released his first LP on Down Low Records. However is has made a name for himself with his multiple releases on Rush Hour Records. His fushion of raw detroit house mixed with disco grooves has made him a household name. This EP will certainly be no exception.
His Green Marimba track was release earlier this fall on vinyl exclusively. This has been well received by Soulphiction, Deetron, DJ Koze, Chris Carrier & Efdemin. This is certainly a tune that fuses African grooves with a Detroit thump. Think of Theo Parrish messing with some african instruments & you are only halfway there. Nebraska continues the groove with a nice spacey track Hi Ya. In a similar vein Nebraska teams up with James Mason on 88-89 in a detroit vibe. The last track "Tell Me" he goes for a more acid bassline groove.
2010 has certainly been a big year for Nebraska and we a very happy to be a part it.

Smooth Agent is happy to present another talented duo to our family, Costantino Bozi & Dennis Kaski AKA BeeKay Deep. Based in Greece, BeeKay Deep was born in the summer of 2008 where the two soulmates and friends for many years Costantino Bozi and Dennis Kaski united their love for house music, particularly deep house. Their love for this deepness show in their No Cool EP.
The title track "No Cool" kicks off the EP in a big way with its dub techno soundscapes and congo echos. "Understand" keeps the deep tech vibe, filtered techy synths & occasional claps equivalent to a thunderstorm that is brewing on the dancefloor. "Groove Me" is a throw back of when house was fused with hip hop vocals, while "Give It Up" fuses the Godfather of Soul with neck snapping beat.

Just an hour west of London resides another talent that is getting serious buzz. His Smile EP (featuring the vocals of Deon Lathan) on Whasdat Music has been getting a lot of attention from Aaron Ross (Radio One Extra), Osunlade, Karizma & The Ministry Of Sound Radio. With "Techers Untitled" James takes a much more deeper approach. A very big tune that will certainly destroy your dancefloor. Be on the lookout for his forthcoming EP featuring Deon as they bring you some deep soulful tech grooves!!!
Blaq Soul feat Cy "Down to My Root"[Original Soulful Mix]
For our 3rd recruit we thought it would be fitting to add another South African artist. He has release plenty of releases on his Blaq Soul imprint in South Africa. But keep in mind this is a much darker & rawer side of South Africa. "Down to my Root" is certainly no exception!!! It's a spaced out Dub Techno experience featuring a thought provoking vocal from Cy describing the ongoing struggle of life. Definitely a different side of the South African sound. His Zulu Ambassador EP will bring you tribal grooves with a techno feel.

His title track Walese hits you with beautiful harmony of kalimbas & a slight stomp to it. Reign Queen is on a deep tech with emotional strings that will certainly work the dance floor. Darque continues to impress with "Greatest Man" & "Son Of Soil" where he fuses afro grooves with deeptech synths. Back in tha saddle
Back to posting here. I know I wrote a post about me not posting before and I did it again. Do I have the time? Yes. Do have a ton of other things on my plate? Yes. Is this an excuse. Yes, but I am being honest.. Do you feel the world accepts being real. No, but that is another story.Lol!! All I can do is keep trying. :)
This is what I have been up to. I went back to Japan to dj in October. Released some more material from other artists on Smooth Agent. Dealt with the death of my wifes mom. Dealing with things changing in my wkplace. Working hard on some upcoming productions & remixes.
What I learned in the past few months. I have learned that I have to keep doing me. I have to surroud myself with like minded individuals. I have to stop wasting time dealing with issues I cannot solve. I must keep practicing my djing & music production. Meditation is must. I learned you have to not worry about what you feel others are saying and not saying.
Whats coming next:Improved website. Sean Smith album in 2011!!! A long list of releases on Smooth Agent in 2011. More traveling and productions in 2011. More self inprovement as well as label improvement.
