The Big Phreek EDIT!!
This has now become a Chicago staple. This version was done with Leonard Remix RRoy. Leonard definitly helped the edit out and made this more in a Music Boxx style. I have never personally been to the original Boxx but through tapes and dj friends I knew the style very well.
I did the inital edit for a dj battle that was between the crews: The Attic (DJ Emanuel), Nu Bang Clan (Greg Grey) , 3 Degrees (Julius TMT) & Krush the group I was apart of at the time. I ended up winning 2nd place in the battle. The battle was major event at the time and a big event in my career as a dj in Chicago. What may have been a regular party for some of the dj's I saw a great opportunity to show what I could do. The greatest lesson I learned is that I could be a dj on the major circuit in Chicago.
The song "Im A Big Phreek" was taken off of the Patrick Adams Atlantic records album Partick Adams presents Phreek. The same album also has the original version of "Weekend" that was covered in the early 80's by Class action on Sleeping Bag records. In Chicago "Big Phreek" was mostly played in the black and gay underground clubs. This is one of the essential songs of Chicago style house music.

I have finally decided to develop blog site. My name is Sean Smith I am a house music dj /producer/ label owner of Smooth Agent Records. I spin deep house with Chicago flavor. I also play latin, afro beat, deep disco, tech house and rare grooves also. I like funky music. I have a weekly sunday night at a bar/club called Betty's Blue Star 11600 w. grand called Real House Music Sundays which feature myself and weekly guest.
